One of the York Region Branch Ont. SPCA key strategies includes the reaching out to the public for financial support.  The York Region Branch Ont. SPCA is not a government-funded charity agency, but is an independent registered charitable organization, providing a vital service to the community.

The Society provides frontline protection for all animals and are faced with lots of difficult decisions every day with respect to facilitaties and the providing of province-wide leadership on matters relating to the prevention of cruelty to animals and the promotion of animal welfare.

Recognizing that the Regional Municipality of York is made up of nine municipalities covering (Aurora, East Gwillimbury, Georgina, King, Markham, Newmarket, Richmond Hill, Vaughan and Whitchurch-Stouffville) with 25 ,000 companies and  over 850,000 people living in the York Region area, theYork Region Branch Ont. SPCA's future success necessitates a harmonious relationship with all animal lovers, based on principles of mutual respect.
